lineart details are almost complete, this is definitely the most consistent ive been on a single piece in a long time. im gonna keep it grayscale, picked up some grey value markers to do the final shading once im out of work, think itll really bring out the depth

happy late new year! i hadn't planned anything and we're almost over january but better late than never i suppose. since i created max, i got a few other things in the works to really get him settled in my own lil world haha. also doodled this new bunny character for the shits, though i don't have a name for them yet.. guess they'll somewhat act as the hobbes to max's calvin, just someone to bounce off of in these lil comics. looking forward to making more things....... maybe...

finally worked on a proper piece/ref of my character max :)

there's a minimal ref as well in the submission post, but honestly i'm just happy i actually made something that isnt a song or a sharp angled piece of graphic design. feel like im getting better at drawing characters tbh, though expressions and posing definitely needs work

i've been slowly cracking away at figuring out exactly what i want to do for the next year, but i definitely feel like i've gotten back into the mindset of overthinking the quality of my work and where i want it to be. i've always struggled a little bit with letting go of my work, especially when it comes to music. still recovering from trying to give so many shits about who hears it and how much attention i could get, pouring your heart out for free at my age with no real promise or future in it is a leap of faith i'm still battling with internally. i guess a happy medium for myself and y'all is to show a bit of progress on some visual stuff.

concept sketches for a track cover i wanted to expand on, but honestly i dont think i've practiced enough to really feel confident enough in finalizing an actual piece with tanks

i somewhat finished the graffiti sketch for said track, but attempting to render it any other way or composite into a cover feels a bit lackluster and tbh i really like how it turned out with just pencil and paper

to be honest i'm still not exactly sure where i want to sit in regards of a visual aesthetic and even the music itself, i'm not exactly sure how to take whats in my head and express it the best way i can. i want to know y'alls thoughts and opinions on releasing music. is it better not to give a shit and just put it out as is whenever i want? or is holding back and reaching for the potential of having a larger audience worth it? these are the questions that will shape my goals of the year, thanks for reading and i hope y'all have a good one.
